( Punch Newspapers )!! ✅ What the bill says A proposed bill in the Nigerian Senate (sponsored by Ibrahim Geidam) would establish a “National Agency for the Education, Rehabilitation, De‑radicalisation and Integration of Repentant Insurgents in Nigeria”. Among the provisions: funding from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) for the agency; and the agency would provide foreign and local education opportunities for so-called “…ex-agitators/repentant terrorists.”  ⚠️ Reactions and controversies The bill sparked strong objections from civil-society groups like Socio‑Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP). They argued it undermined justice for victims of the Boko Haram insurgency and diverted educational funds from children and other needy Nigeri...

“The House of Empty Promises”

Image
1-Line Caption: When truth becomes a campaign slogan, the people become the product. Story: They built a mansion on the hill — glass walls, marble floors, and microphones that echoed with rehearsed passion. Every four years, the same script was recycled, only the actors changed. They spoke of “youth empowerment,” while the youths sold their votes for bags of rice. They preached “economic recovery,” while their convoys guzzled fuel worth a teacher’s lifetime salary. The streets learned to laugh at hope. Every manifesto sounded like a lullaby — soothing words before another round of hunger. And still, the people queued under the sun, inked their thumbs, and whispered, “Maybe this time.” But power in Nigeria isn’t lost — it’s traded. In smoke-filled rooms, they sign invisible contracts, swearing loyalty not to the nation, but to their stomachs. Until the day the streets grow tired of waiting. Until the people stop praying for miracles — and start becoming them.

VDM Exposes True Cost of Keke Napep, Fights for Fair Prices in Nigeria

Image
Summary (Report's) Social commentator VDM has taken it upon himself to challenge the inflated prices of Keke Napep in Nigeria. After public outcry over tricycles being sold for as high as ₦7 million , VDM investigated the issue firsthand. Traveling to China, he visited Keke manufacturing markets and revealed the real prices — far lower than what Nigerians pay. His on-ground footage showcased different models, from electric Kekes to stylish convertible types , proving that local buyers are being exploited through overpricing and import markups. VDM’s bold move has earned him public praise for doing what many only talk about — bringing transparency to an industry riddled with middlemen and inflated costs. Quote (public sentiment):  “Give that man his flowers — he’s doing the work others only talk about.” Key Point: VDM’s effort is sparking a broader conversation on price fairness, import policies, and the need for local assembly reforms to make transport afford...

*FORWARDED AS RECEIVED*

I recently employed a cook 2 weeks ago who according to him had recently relocated from Abuja. He had full references and ID etcetera. To cut a long story short, a week after he started working, he told my nanny that he specialized in cloning atm/bank cards and replacing real  forex with counterfeit so the bosses could not suspect as the card will never be taken out of the house nor the quantity of the money reduce. He basically asked her to look around for any forex, higher denominations the better and take photos of it as well as any atm card she could find preferably not naira. She told me this a day after and to be honest i wasn’t exactly buying  the story but felt it was too ludicrous for her to make up plus he is a rather stellar cook. Plus i had no forex at home. I asked for proof before taking any actions and she proceeded to record their conversations. I also put a recording device in the kitchen unknown to her. Anyways, she was right. He called several na...

When I was 35 Years Old, I Dated A Woman Who Was 45 Years old

Image
She was divorced too but my reason for choosing an older and divorced woman was simple and straight to the point; I am at a point in my life that I needed less drama and more focus on putting my life to order.  I was creating my business and I needed to focus, so it was not a time to date a younger, foolish and entitled girl. I felt that experience would have helped an older woman to become mature and have lesser drama compared to these younger folks.  I did not want to be arguing about trivial matters as the following, which are common among younger girls.  Why I did not call 25 times a day.  Why I considered my business more important than her. Why she was not the first I talked to when I woke up from bed.  Why I posted on my status before responding to her messages.   Why I did not answer the call the first time she called. Why I had to talk to other women that I knew and did not ask out before I met her.  I considered dealing with ...
