The Anxiety of Falling In Love It's not easy being in college surrounded by friends who take pride in falling in love while you played the role of a sympathetic witness. Yes, that's me. It's not that I didn't yearn for the attention or the affection of the opposite sex. I did. But at the same time, I believed I didn't deserve the same. The reason being simple. I was the plain Jane who looked good only when there was a movie made on her life. I was that sidekick whose only brush with love was to be the messenger of the love letters of her best friend's boyfriend. My self-esteem was all-time low and I believed that the pigeon in 'Maine Pyar Kiya' had better chances of having a love story than me. And it's the kind of fear you are scared of sharing with anyone. Sometimes, I would try my best to cover that fear with a truckload of make-up. Thus began my tryst with beauty products and every penny I got as pocket money w...

Are you in an emotionally healthy relationship? I care deeply about staying connected to my husband. I want to have a healthy, happy married life. But I don’t always successfully communicate my love and affection for him. When I ended our 10-year anniversary date by dismissing myself from the table during dessert, I realized I ride a teeter-totter of emotion in our marriage. I’m either coming in hot in anger or building a barrier that distances us to protect myself from what I feel when he doesn’t meet my expectations. Neither method leads to an emotionally healthy marriage. Emotional disconnection is an indicator of impending divorce. Most divorcees say they grew apart, largely because they “couldn’t communicate.” This is sad because the problem probably wasn’t about communication but about disconnection. My husband and I needed a lot of help to create a safe space where we could share our emotions candidly. Thankfully, we had the opportunity to attend a marriage retreat i...

Signs that he does not want you People of the opposite sex are sometimes hard to understand. When dealing with a person romantically, some red flags can be easily missed as your reasoning is clouded with romantic emotions. Some warning signs that the situation won’t end well always go unnoticed. Below we talk about author and poet Derrick Jaxn’s three clear signs that he doesn’t want you. 1. His rules or the highway This man controls various aspects of your relationship including where you two hang out, what you do when together, or even what you eat. He likes things done at his convenience irrespective of whether or not it inconveniences you. If you express your boundaries and counteract his “laws”, he starts to act distant with you. From this, it’s clear that he didn’t really want you, to start with. He just wants to have you around. You are convenient for him and that is that. He is only cool with you when you do things on his terms, but as soon as you start becoming an ...

Do you have to work on a relationship to make it a good one? Do you have to work on a relationship to make it a good one? 2019-12-16 09:24:01 Do you have to work on a relationship to make it a good one and keep it that way? Here’s a great question someone asked last week on this topic that we thought was worth chewing on a bit… “You hear many people say that a relationship shouldn’t be ‘work.’ Is that true? If not, then what kind of ‘work’ should it be?” The definition of “work” is mental or physical effort and most of the time, people equate this effort with struggle–or trying really hard to “do” something they really don’t want to do. Often, one person wants to work on a relationship which might mean reading books or taking courses, trying some new techniques along the way… And the other person in the relationship becomes passive-aggressive either drags his or her feet or refuses entirely to participate. So if your mindset is that you have to “work” on a relationship, it’...

Signs that your male friend is interested in you The best relationships are those that you never saw coming. They normally are based on a strong friendship bond. Despite what people might tell you, men and women can be friends and there are multiple reasons to have a male best friend. But what is also possible is that there comes a point in your friendship when one person begins to grow romantic feelings for the other and that is something that can ruin a friendship or transform into something bigger. So, how do you know if he likes you more than a friend? 1. He talks to you differently than everybody else His body language will be a clear indication that he likes you. Listen carefully to the way he talks to you and compare it to the way he talks to his other female friends. Does he pay more attention in your conversations? Is he flirtier? Does he laugh more, or make more jokes, or treat you more warmly? 2. He can’t keep his hands off you When a man like you...

If these are questions that have plagued you after a hot sesh, then you're not alone. Getting intimate with your partner can feel all sorts of amazing but it's the strange floppy/sloshy body stuff that leaves us cringing after. If you know what we're talking about then read on. Here are 11 weird things that happen during sex (and that leave us embarrassed to death): 1.  When one of you accidentally farts... While many of us would rather die than pass gas during sex, the reality is it'll probably happen at some point. This is all thanks to the pressure going on in your nether regions and the subsequent release. "It's normal, and it happens," Bennett says. "The best partner will laugh it off with you. If he doesn't, he...

How To Make Any Girl Fall In Love With You Naturally Most girls like a man that’s going to listen to their problems and when you open your ears and let them talk, you are one step up on any other guy in pursuit. Make sure you don’t push her to make a decision. She just wants you to listen so she can work it out. Of course, if she asks for your advice, you should give it. Just make sure you aren’t pushing too hard with it or she’ll close the door fast. Always Compliments her Who doesn’t like a nice compliment now and then? Just please don’t give her fake praise or she will kick your butt to the curb fast. Make sure the compliment is genuine and sincere and not too deep. If you overdo it, I can guarantee this pointer will backfire big time. Flatter her a little and she will reward you handsomely. Be loyal, and give her total support Think of this like you might a cheerleader. You need to show her you will be there to encourage her on and support her in her daily battles. This...

Why Do Men Cheat? Men and women cheat for all sorts of reasons. Women often stray because they want an emotional connection or money or both. But experts believe that men tend to cheat for the following reasons: • Feelings of insecurity, unworthiness and being unloved • An opportunity presents itself and they grab the chance to try something new • Lack of satisfaction in their sexual relationships with their spouses, especially when the woman repeatedly denies them sex • Seeking attention and physical contact • Probably feels jealous that the wife has been paying too much attention to the baby and little attention to him • There is a communication gap in their relationship • An attachment disorder or a sex addiction problem • The man might be battling with childhood baggage—abandonment, abuse, or was raised in a dysfunctional family • Monogamy sounds like a joke to him • He has been socially conditioned to believe that infidelity is a man’s right • They think they can...

When to say "I Love You" for the first time There are milestones in every relationship: becoming “exclusive,” moving in together and getting married are all momentous steps to take. But another big one is the first saying of “I love you.” Whilst we love our mums, dogs and halloumi, being in love with someone is something else, and saying it to your boyfriend or girlfriend for the first time can be very nerve-wracking. What if they don’t feel the same way? What if you scare them off? What if they reply with “thank you”? *shudders* It’s a cringe-worthy prospect and can leave you feeling vulnerable. So how do you know when is the right time to say those three little words? One woman recently posed the dilemma in a Mumsnet forum: “I think my new boyfriend wants to say it but doesn’t want me to not say it back, so he seems to be saying it in a jokey way or a roundabout way recently,” she wrote. She said they’d been “official” for two months but have been dating for fou...
